The short answer: two official places

An Android user should get OKX from only two places: Google Play, where the app is published by OKX INC., and okx.com/download, which offers the APK file for phones without Google Play. Everything else, including APKPure, Uptodown, file-sharing links and “OKX APK latest version” pages, is a copy someone else uploaded.

New to OKX? Register first, then install

If you don't have an account yet, sign up before you install. In the app you have to type the referral code yourself, and a referral can only be linked when the account is created, so it's easy to miss. On the web, our button opens OKX's sign-up page with the code already applied. OKX's sign-up page shows a 20% trading-fee discount (checked 2026-10-16); new-user rewards are whatever OKX's campaign page shows at the time.

How to install the OKX APK on Android, step by step

1. Open okx.com on the phone itselfType the address into your browser rather than tapping a search ad or a link from a chat. OKX's help centre specifically warns against installing the app from chat groups, search ads, cloud drives and third-party APK download sites.
2. Go to the download page and choose AndroidOn okx.com/download, pick Android. If your phone has Google Play, the Play version is the simpler choice because it updates itself. Otherwise use the APK option: copy the APK link from the Download FAQ and open it in your browser, as OKX's article describes.
3. Allow the install for that one app onlyAndroid will ask you to let your browser or file manager “install unknown apps”. Allow it for that single app, then switch the permission off again after the install.
4. Read the warning screen before you continueMany phones show a security warning for any app installed outside their own store. OKX's help article includes notes for Huawei, Honor, Xiaomi and OPPO/OnePlus phones. Continue only if you're sure the file came from okx.com.
5. Log in and lock the account downTurn on an authenticator app, set an anti-phishing code (genuine OKX emails will include it) and add a withdrawal address whitelist before you move any money.

How to tell the APK is genuine

As of 2026-10-17 we couldn't find an OKX page that publishes a checksum or signing fingerprint for the APK, so checking comes down to where the file came from and how your phone and the app behave.

• Where it came from. A Google Play listing published by OKX INC., or a download you started on okx.com yourself. Nothing else counts.
• Signature conflicts. Android only installs an update over an existing app when both are signed with the same certificate (Android Developers, “Sign your app”). If your phone says an OKX file conflicts with the OKX app you already have, the two weren't signed with the same key, which can mean one of them isn't genuine. Find out where each came from before you log in, and don't delete a working app just to force the new file in.
• Developer details. On Google Play, “About the developer” lists support@okx.com and an office address in San Jose, California (checked 2026-10-17).
• How the app behaves. OKX warns that fake apps can carry trojans that change the deposit or withdrawal addresses shown in the app. Before a large transfer, check that the address matches what you see when logged in to okx.com in a browser.
• Who's contacting you. OKX's official verification tool lets you look up any website, account or group that claims to be OKX before you trust it.

Are APKPure, Uptodown and other APK sites safe for OKX?

Short version: they aren't OKX, and OKX tells you not to use them. Sites like APKPure and Uptodown re-host Android apps so people can install them without Google Play. Whatever checks such a site runs, the file isn't coming from OKX, and the download page gives you no way to confirm who built it.

This isn't a theoretical worry. In April 2021, researchers at Kaspersky and Doctor Web found that version 3.17.18 of APKPure's own Android client had been tampered with to drop malware; APKPure fixed it in 3.17.19 (The Hacker News, 10 April 2021). And OKX's help centre (updated 11 August 2026) warns that fake apps can alter the deposit and withdrawal addresses displayed inside the app.

OKX APK old versions: why you'll be told to update

• There's no official archive. OKX's channels give you the current build. As of 2026-10-17 we couldn't find an OKX notice listing which old versions are still supported or when older ones stop working.
• Support starts with “update”. OKX's help article on reporting app problems (updated 11 August 2026) begins by checking whether your app is the latest version, via Menu > About OKX > Check for updates > Slide to update.
• Going back means uninstalling first. Android normally refuses to install an older version over a newer one, so “old version” sites usually have you remove the working app first, which is exactly the moment a swapped file can slip in.
• Back up OKX Wallet before you uninstall anything. If you use the wallet inside the app, make sure your seed phrase is written down first; without it, wallet assets can't be recovered.

If a new version won't install or keeps crashing on your phone, report it through in-app support rather than reaching for an old file from a download site.

Is there an OKX APK for iPhone?

No. APK is Android's package format, and iPhones can't open it. On iPhone and iPad, OKX comes from the App Store, where OKX's help centre says the developer is OKX Inc.; any other developer name means a counterfeit. OKX also says the official iOS app can only be downloaded with an Apple ID from outside mainland China, and that searching “OKX” in the mainland China App Store returns only fakes.

Be careful with anything offered as an “iPhone APK”, a configuration profile you're asked to trust, or a shared Apple ID. See OKX for iPhone and iPad for the official App Store link.

OKX not in your Play Store? An APK isn't a way around a ban

Sometimes OKX is missing from Google Play because it was removed in your country. The Philippines is the clearest recent case:

• On 1 August 2025, the Philippine SEC flagged OKX among ten international exchanges it said were operating without the licences required under its crypto-asset service provider rules (BitPinas).
• BitPinas reported on 30 April 2026 that the OKX app had been removed from the Philippine Apple App Store, and on 24 July 2026 that it was gone from the Philippine Google Play Store. It noted that the SEC and the central bank hadn't publicly confirmed a formal directive to Apple.

If OKX isn't available where you live, sideloading the APK doesn't change your legal position or OKX's terms. Accounts used against those terms can be restricted, and you'd have little recourse if something went wrong. Looking for the OKEx APK?

OKEx renamed itself OKX on 18 January 2022 (Finance Magnates). The current app is OKX, and a file still labelled “OKEx” is either years old or not from the company. Install the current OKX app from Google Play or okx.com instead.
